More About Me

An adventurous overachiever with a strong desire to form connections and become your family Realtor, Karen sees herself as a valuable resource to home buyers and sellers and feels “…that while real estate used to be just transactional, now it is about relationships, generational relationships.”

Experience and Expertise

Karen has been in the Real Estate field since studying Business Management and Property Management in College in Connecticut. She followed her major and became a Property Manager for Condominium Associations and Apartment Complexes. A few years later, she decided to move South to Virginia Beach and was unexpectedly swept up by the airlines. Karen was offered a flight attendant position with Trans World Airlines and was immediately sent out to the West Coast. She was based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, St Louis, New York City, and Atlanta, GA. Karen experienced and enjoyed flying around the World for 11 years and finally landed in Northwest Georgia to settle down and raise a family. Karen obtained her Real Estate license in 1995 in GA and sold residential real estate part time while still working as a flight attendant.

Being a classic overachiever, after retiring as a flight attendant, she decided to go back to college to try a new career as an Operating Room Surgical Technician. Karen maintained a dual career of part time Real Estate sales and an Operating Room Surgical Technician until her family decided to relocate to the Wilmington/Hampstead/Porters Neck area in 2014 to be closer to family.  She obtained her NC Real Estate License in 2015 and worked part time as well as becoming a High School Homeschool Teacher for her special needs son until his graduation, when she dedicated herself full time to real estate, joining the Treasure Team in 2023.

Because of her own experience relocating several times across the country, she has a special talent in helping people navigate the steps to setting up a new household – whether it’s across town or from across the country.

Karen states, “First time home buyers are so fun!” She loves showing them the ropes and her aim is to protect and educate them in the home buying process. She also loves showing off the beautiful North Carolina coast to those looking to relocate or retire to the area.

Family Life

Born and raised in West Hartford, CT and then travelled and lived across the country through her time as a flight attendant She ultimately landed in NC in 2014 to raise her family after having helped her parents retire to the Wilmington area. The NC coast became their retirement destination in the late 1990’s and Karen spent many visits over the years, finally making the move herself in 2014. She enjoys the many amazing festivals, live music, and restaurants available in the area and loves to take day trips to nearby coastal towns, hunting for the perfect antiques and coastal treasures. Karen knows what it’s like to relocate and set up a new home. She empathizes with new home buyers, first home buyers, and those relocating to a totally new area.

Values

Karen says, “I want to be your family Realtor.” She will be there for you every step of the way and hopes that you will see her as a valuable resource to share with your family and friends. For Karen, the thrill of the hunt for your perfect home is what drives her. It’s a personal commitment, not just a transaction, and your best interests as a buyer or seller are kept at the forefront of every interaction.

Karen knows that having a great realtor in your corner to help you with all the questions you might have about a new town is invaluable and she looks forward to being by your side from the very first conversation right on thru to the closing day and beyond! She sees herself as a resource to home buyers and sellers and feels “…that while real estate used to be just transactional, now it is about relationships, generational relationships.” Just as it should be.
